The 16th Meeting of the East Asian Biosphere Reserve Network (EABRN) with the theme of “Sustaining Biosphere Reserves for SDGs in the (post) pandemic period ” took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 03 October to 07 October 2022, jointly organized by the UNESCO Office in Beijing, The Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO and the Mongolian MAB National Committee. This was the first time that members of the network met since the COVID-19 outbreak, and the advancing Lima Action Plan (2022-2023) was adopted in June 2022. Following up the recommendations of the 15th EABRN meeting, this meeting completed the joint research on ecotourism development in Biosphere Reserves (BRs) and the production of related guidelines. The meeting primarily focused on the possibilities of cooperative product development, transboundary biosphere reserve, conservation policies capacity building and promotion of youth participation and introduction of youth activities in the biosphere reserves.
